A Crude Interest |
|
In 1992, Dave Caruso formed his first new alternative music band since Caruso, called A Crude Interest. Friend Ralph Koschnitzke, (editor of Dave's Aural Contact music newsletter--a precursor to this web site!), was among the first to join the group, along with drummer Eric Freeman. Soon, singer Tracey Flynn was added and the group became a quartet. They performed over several weekends in the 1992 summer concert series at the Southgate, MI Ramada Heritage Center.
Tight vocal harmonies were the band's trademark. Dave wrote a song, "A Crude Interest," based on the band's name, and they performed it at their live shows.
When former "Dwarf" songwriter / singer / guitarist Nick Piunti signed on, A Crude Interest became a five-piece. They made several appearances from 1993 to 1994 at the short-lived Wyandotte Metro Music Cafe in Wyandotte, MI.
