Someday

Words and music ©1979, 1980 by Dave Caruso

It used to be that every day would slip past, unrevealing

Becoming yesterday before my eyes

But now the days unravel in a timeless shroud, unending

Leaving remnants of a silky Sunday dawn

And another week of waiting starts another month of pain

Again, a week of breaking hearts, it's driving me insane

Someday not too long from now will bring me close to you

Maybe I'm just dreaming, but what else is there to do?

If the world keeps changing, future to present to past

Someday won't always be so hard to see

I can't help wondering just how long this whole thing's gonna last

Gotta find a way to bring someday closer to me

I sit and watch the sunset, but it's not as nice alone

As another lonely week comes to an end

The moon and stars appear, but then they vanish with the sun

To start the vicious cycle once again

And another week of waiting starts another month of pain

Again, a week of breaking hearts, it's driving me insane

Someday not too long from now will bring me close to you

Maybe I'm just dreaming, but what else is there to do?

If the world keeps changing, future-to-present-to-past

Someday won't always be so hard to see

I can't help wondering just how long this whole thing's gonna last

Gotta find a way to bring someday closer to me

Gotta find a way to bring someday closer to me
